Gov't to Certify Family-Friendly Firms

The government will begin issuing certificates to companies that foster a family-friendly working environment.

The Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs will begin accepting applications starting next month. The certification will be granted to companies and state agencies that have instituted exemplary family-friendly policies.

Flexible working hours, sanitary conditions, childcare leave and other voluntary programs should be guaranteed in order to create a family-oriented corporate culture.

The ministry will offer incentives to these firms such as merit points when they apply for state-funded projects. They can also use the certification mark on product advertisements for up to three years from the certification date.
