Groups to Set Common Rules for Aiding NK

Civic organizations offering humanitarian aid to North Korea will establish common codes of conduct in a bid to promote cooperation and increase efficiency.

An alliance of humanitarian groups drew up common rules in June and is seeking the approval of its 56 members.

The common rules stipulate principles for helping the North and a strengthening of the supervision of aid distribution in the impoverished nation.

The new conservative government has also been asking the aid groups to enhance their visibility when distributing supplies to the North.
