Two Koreas to Hold Talks on Aid Next Month

The two Koreas will hold working-level talks next month regarding the supply of energy and economic aid to the North.

The meeting comes as part of the February 13th six-way denuclearization agreement.

A source familiar with North Korean affairs said Tuesday that the South proposed holding the talks at the truce village of Panmunjeom on August 23rd. The North, however, wanted to postpone the meeting, saying it has not yet wrapped up talks on energy and economic aid with China.

The source said the North’s request for the delay was unrelated to the verification of its nuclear program.
