Prosecutors said Wednesday they have arrested a female North Korean spy disguised as a defector.

The Suwon District Prosecutors' Office said the 35-year-old suspect, Won Jeong-hwa, was arrested last month on charges of spying for North Korea.

The prosecution said she used her romantic relationships with South Korean military officers to gather military secrets.

The prosecution also indicted the 26-year-old Army captain on charges of collaborating with her, despite his knowledge of her identity as a spy.

Another North Korean spy was also arrested for allegedly acting as an intermediary between Won and North Korean agents in the North.

Won is charged with collecting classified information, including photographs and the locations of key South Korean military installations after defecting to the South in 2001, claiming to be a refugee.
