Army, Navy, Air Force launch anti-terror support units

A spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense said Tuesday South Korea's armed forces launched medical and logistical support units that will aid the ongoing U.S.-led war against terrorism. The Army's medical team, which comprises some 130 army surgeons and nurses, will be dispatched this month to Kyrgyzstan, north of Afghanistan.
The team will provide medical assistance to the U.S.-led military force there and refugees from Afghanistan. The Navy launched its 170-man "Ocean Star" unit with a 4,300-ton landing ship tank (LST), which will take part in transport operations in the Pacific and Indian oceans.
