A ranking official from the Unification Ministry's Planning Office for the Light-water Reactor Project said Monday a 20-member North Korean delegation of high-level atomic energy-related officials arrived in South Korea Sunday for a two-week tour of nuclear facilities in North and South Kyongsang provinces. The official said the visit was made in accordance with a training protocol signed between the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) and North Korea on Oct. 20th, 2000. The official said the purpose of the group's visit is to inspect training facilities that will educate North Korean nuclear experts and technicians in the coming years to ensure safe operation of the two light-water reactors under construction in the North.
