A military official in Seoul says no unusual signs have been detected in the North Korean military amid rumors that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il may be seriously ill.

The official said Wednesday that South Korea has made no changes to its military vigilance level or other operations monitoring the North.

The official said the military is trying to confirm reports that the reclusive North Korean leader is gravely ill.
