Japan’s Kyodo News quoted Song Il-ho, North Korea's diplomat for normalizing ties with Japan, as saying the reports and speculations regarding Kim Jong-il’s illness are worthless.

Song added the rumors are part of a conspiracy plot.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg cited a source from the North Korean mission to the UN as saying over the phone that it is not true the North’s leader has suffered a stroke.
