A source close to North Korean affairs says there haven't been any unusual moves by the communist state amid the rumored illness of its leader Kim Jong-il.

The source says there's nothing out of the ordinary except for the fact that Kim didn't show up to a Tuesday event marking the 60th anniversary of the country's founding.

The source said there haven't been any visible changes to the North's military, the border, Mount Geumgang resort or the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

It said it's trying to confirm a reported second visit to Pyongyang by a French medical team and, if true, the purpose of their visit.
