FM Han raises concern about yen's slide

Foreign Minister Han Seung-soo has expressed concern over the Japanese yen's slide. In an interview with Japan's Ni-hon-kei-zai Shimbun newspaper, Han said the low yen could prompt the devaluation of other Asian currencies. Han said that given the U.S. and Japanese non-interference, the yen could decline further to as low as one-hundred-45 yen against the U.S. dollar, which could put an increasing pressure on Beijing to devaluate the yuan. He said a low yen wouldn't bring much benefit to the Japanese economy, while giving a big political and economic shock to other Asian economies.
