The government wants to hold military talks with North Korea on Thursday.

A government official says Seoul made the proposal in a telephone message sent to Pyongyang on Sunday.

Seoul has yet to receive a response.

Last Thursday, the North proposed holding inter-Korean working-level military talks on Tuesday to discuss a range of agreements the two sides’ military authorities have reached so far.
