Unification Minister Won't Attend Oct. 4th Ceremony

Unification Minister Kim Ha-joong will not attend a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the October 4th Summit Declaration.

A ministry spokesman said Vice Unification Minister Hong Yang-ho will attend the event, which will take place on October first.

The spokesman said the minister will instead attend a ceremony for this year’s Armed Forces Day.

Kim did attend a ceremony to mark the eighth anniversary of the June 15, 2000 Summit Declaration, in which he stressed the importance of inter-Korean dialogue.
