Many of the world’s tourism operators and organizations will convene in Busan early next month.

The World Tourism Investment Summit and the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities Forum will be held in the southern port city for two days, starting October sixth.

Organized by the World Trade University, the gathering will seek to create and support productive relations between tourism organizations and promote tourism-related investments.

Nearly 500 officials from some 30 countries will take part in the international meetings, including tourism ministers, heads of international investment firms as well as academics and experts on tourism.

The Vancouver-based World Trade University was launched during the Third United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries in 2001.

The World Tourism Investment Summit is one of the events overseen by the World Trade Forum.

The Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities Forum, meanwhile, is a gathering of officials from 63 metropolitan governments and 39 civic groups worldwide. Established in 2004, the forum convenes every two years.
