PIFF Kicks off Thursday

The 13th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) will open at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the southern port city of Busan.

Some 100 film stars from home and abroad will be at the opening ceremony. Kazakh director Rustem Abdrashev's "The Gift to Stalin" will open the festival. The event will close with South Korean director Yoon Jong-chan's "I Am Happy."

About 315 films from 60 countries will be screened during festival’s nine-day run. Among them, 85 are world premiers, 48 international premiers and 95 Asia premiers.
