Inter-Korean military talks ended without an agreement after one-and-a-half hours.
Talks began at the border village of Panmunjeom on Thursday morning. Details of discussions have yet to be announced.
The Defense Ministry in Seoul says the North Korean delegation strongly protested South Korea’s alleged spread of anti-Communist leaflets in the North.
In a message sent to the South Korean military on May 30th, North Korea's chief delegate, Senior Colonel Pak Rim-su, claimed that South Korea was continuing to distribute hostile leaflets despite an inter-Korean agreement to stop doing so.
Thursday’s talks represent the first inter-Korean meeting since President Lee Myung-bak took office, and are the first military talks since late January.
North Korea proposed the working-level military talks last month to discuss the implementation of inter-Korean military agreements signed at previous military talks.
