Seoul Respects Spirit of Inter-Korean Agreements

The government reaffirmed its position that it respects the intentions behind all inter-Korean agreements in a statement released in accordance with the first anniversary of the October 4th inter-Korean summit declaration.

Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Ho-nyoun on Thursday told a news briefing that all inter-Korean agreements are based on the idea that the two sides will work together to establish peace on the Korean Peninsula and enhance bilateral ties.

Kim said the Seoul government’s stance is that it respects the foundations on which all inter-Korean agreements are based.

The Seoul government, however, has decided not to hold government-level events marking the first anniversary.
