The Korea Food and Drug Administration will ban food imports by companies which were found to have imported products tainted with melamine from China.

Haitai Confectionary, Lotte Confectionary, Mars Korea and Nestle Korea will face the punishment for the violation of the food hygiene law.

But the food safety watchdog said that the companies will continue to manufacture and sell food products, since they didn’t violate the law as food producers and sellers.
