The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says North Korea seems to be pursuing the development of small-sized nuclear warheads.

General Kim Tae-young made the remark during a parliamentary inspection of the Defense Ministry on Wednesday.

Kim said the North is also trying to develop biological and chemical weapons as well.

On whether the North actually has such weapons, Kim said he could not provide an accurate answer.
