The National Union of Media Workers and other media-related groups have expressed their opposition to the government’s move to ease regulations on broadcasting and communications.

In a news conference held Thursday in front of the Korea Communications Commission building, the groups accused the government of seeking to allow large companies to dominate the media on the pretext of job creation and growth of media industry.

The groups also opposed the government’s move to introduce a private agency for broadcast advertisement.

The KCC on Friday will hold a general session to pass the revision bill on broadcast and telecommunication development.
