Abductee Groups Plans to Send Leaflets to NK

The Korean War Abductees Family Union and Fighters for Free North Korea plan to send leaflets with the names of abductees to North Korea on Monday.

The union said it plans to release 100-thousand balloons with leaflets from the waters off Goseong on the east coast. The leaflets contain the names of the 487 abductees and where and when they were abducted by North Korea.

The leaflets ask abductees and prisoners of war taken captive during the Korean War to contact their families in the South through China.

The leaflets also mention North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's reported health problem, a move which is expected to provoke a strong reaction from the communist government.
