The UN’s World Food Program (WFP) team in Pyongyang visited South Korea’s Unification Ministry on Friday, asking for food aid for the North.

Jean-Pierre de Margerie, the WFP country director for North Korea, and his team members met with a ministry official, explaining the food condition in the North and requesting that the South send emergency aid.

The government is currently reviewing a 60-million-dollar aid request the WFP made to Korea in August.
