Abductees Groups to Send Leaflets to NK

A group of North Korean defectors plans to send leaflets to the communist state Monday with information regarding North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s health.

The Korean War Abductees Family Union and Fighters for Free North Korea plan to launch balloons with some 100-thousand leaflets to the North from the waters off Goseong on the east coast.

The leaflets contain the names of 487 abductees taken by the North and urges abductees and prisoners of war taken captive during the Korean War to contact their families in the South through China.

The leaflets also claim that North Korean leader Kim suffered a stroke and is partially paralyzed. The leaflets call for efforts to overthrow what they called the North’s military-oriented dictatorship.
