Korea-Africa Cooperation Conference Opens

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance is hosting a ministerial-level meeting on economic cooperation with African countries.

The meeting opened Monday and will end Thursday.

The Korea-Africa Cooperation Conference is an event held every two years to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. The first conference was held in April 2006.

Twenty-one African countries have sent 130 delegates to the conference.

President Lee Myung-bak will host a Wednesday dinner for Korean and African representatives to the event. He expressed strong support for increased economic cooperation with Africa.
