Defectors, Abductees’ Group Send Leaflets to NK

A group of North Korean defectors and families of abductees has sent leaflets to the North with information regarding its leader Kim Jong-il’s health.

The Korean War Abductees Family Union and Fighters for Free North Korea launched balloons with some 40-thousand leaflets from the waters off Goseong on the eastern coast.

Also, the group set afloat 40 bottles, each enclosed with a leaflet, a U.S. dollar, some rice and chewing gum.

Later in the afternoon, the group moved to Ganghwa Island off the west coast and released balloons with an additional 60-thousand leaflets.

The leaflets include a list of 486 South Korean fishermen who were abducted by North Korea and claim that Kim Jong-il suffered a stroke and is partially paralyzed.
