NK Demands Halt to Leaflets Distribution

The South and North Korean militaries have held a working-level meeting at the western border.

The Ministry of National Defense said that, in a brief meeting on Monday, the North requested the repair of inter-Korean military hotlines and the supply of communication equipment and materials.

Meanwhile, pointing out the increasing incidence of South Korean civic groups distributing anti-communist leaflets, Pyongyang demanded Seoul take countermeasures.

Seoul reconfirmed its commitment to the inter-Korean agreement to stop cross-border propaganda and reiterated its efforts in asking the civic groups to refrain from such activities.

Also, South Korea strongly demanded the North stop slandering President Lee Myung-bak.
