Public Design Expo 2008 has opened at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul.
The four-day event, starting Tuesday, will introduce public design projects and urban environment improvements carried out by domestic and foreign cities.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the organizing committee of the Public Design Expo Korea, over 80 organizations and companies are participating.
In particular, eco-friendly designs of northern European cities such as Helsinki and Oslo will be on display. Also, the “Light and Water” design of Gyeonggi Province’s new town project will be disclosed to the public for the first time.
All proceeds from admissions will be donated to the Happy School project. After the event, the exhibits will also be donated to schools and welfare facilities.
