Inter-Korean Joint Venture to Open in Pyongyang

An inter-Korean joint venture textile company will open in North Korea on Thursday.

South Korean businesspeople left for Pyongyang Wednesday to attend a dedication ceremony. The 257-member delegation includes Representative Kim Kwang-lim of the ruling Grand National Party.

The 30-million-dollar textile company in Pyongyang will employ one-thousand North Korean workers.

It is a 50-50 joint venture between South and North Korean companies.

This is the first time a jointly run inter-Korean factory has opened in the North Korean capital.
