Gov’t Chides Continued Spread of Anti-NK Leaflets

The government has condemned civic groups' continued spread of anti-communist leaflets across the inter-Korean border despite the government's repeated requests to stop.

In a news briefing Thursday, Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Ho-nyoun again urged the groups to refrain from spreading leaflets.

He stressed that they should halt their activities in consideration of the inter-Korean agreements and the current situation between the two Koreas.

On Wednesday, the Korean War Abductees Family Union and Fighters for Free North Korea launched balloons with some 100-thousand leaflets from Imjingak pavilion, just south of the border from the North.
