The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has issued guidelines on genetically modified organisms. Under the guidelines, those wanting to sell genetically modified farm products must have a certificate which verifies their products do not pose harm to the environment. The manufacturers or distributers of G-M-O products should submit applications to the Rural Development Administration for the certificate. The agency shall conduct inspections on the products and notify applicants of the results within two hundred-70 days of receiving applications.
