NK Diplomat Says Trip to US was 'Good'

Top North Korean diplomat Ri Gun, who recently visited New York, says he had 'a good trip' to the U.S.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Beijing from New York Tuesday, Ri said he is not sure whether he will be able to meet with Chinese government officials on Wednesday. Ri is the director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's American Affairs Bureau.

Last Friday, Ri met with top U.S. nuclear envoy Sung Kim and held extensive talks on the implementation of the October third nuclear dismantlement agreement.

On Barack Obama’s election as the new U.S. president, Ri said Pyongyang has dealt with various U.S. administrations, adding that his country is ready to deal with any U.S. government policy on Pyongyang.
