Hyundai Asan Not Notified of Ban on NK Tour

Tour operator Hyundai Asan says it has yet to receive a notice from North Korea suspending tours to the North's border city of Gaeseong.

Pyongyang announced on Wednesday its intent to close its border with the South.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that North Korea's military will restrict all overland passage through the military demarcation line starting December first.

The company said it hopes the tour program will not be halted as the North did not mention the inclusion of tour groups in its Wednesday announcement.

Tours to the Mount Geumgang resort in the North have been halted since July eleventh after a South Korean tourist was shot to death by a North Korean soldier.
