South Korea's Red Cross on Thursday urged its North Korean counterpart to keep their contact channel intact.

The Korean National Red Cross called on North Korea to reconsider its closure of its liaison office at the truce village of Panmunjeom that has been used for inter-Korean dialogues and discussions of humanitarian issues.

The KNRC also expressed hope that the North's liaison office would be normalized as soon as possible to help resolve current inter-Korean disagreements.

The KNRC stressed that the dialogue channel must remain intact as the two Koreas have a multitude of urgent issues to address.
