North Korean media say North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has completed a tour of industrial facilities in Sinuiju on the country’s northwestern border with China.

The Korean Central News Agency said Tuesday that it was Kim's first on-site inspection outside capital Pyongyang since he resumed public activity early last month.

The report said he took a tour of production lines and encouraged workers.

No photos or detailed remarks made by Kim were included in the report.
