Japanese media say North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s health is failing.

The Mainichi Shimbun said Wednesday that Kim, who is suspected to have suffered a stroke in August, may have had another stroke late last month.

The daily was quoting a Chinese official familiar with North Korean affairs.

The Mainichi also said Kim momentarily lost consciousness last year after an organ failure.

Kim has long suffered from diabetes and kidney disease.
