Tours to the North Korean city of Gaeseong will be suspended starting Saturday.

Hyundai Asan, the operator of the tour program, has informed around 600 customers with tour reservations for this weekend that the programs have been canceled and that their money will be refunded.

The company said that 238 of 269 people who signed up for the tour left for Gaeseong on Thursday morning despite rainy weather.

North Korea announced earlier this month that it will halt the tour from December first as part of its plan to restrict cross-border passage in retaliation against what it claims is South Korea's hard-line policy toward Pyongyang.
