The Ministry of Unification has again urged South Korean civic organizations to halt their distribution of anti-North Korean leaflets.
Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Ho-nyoun said Wednesday that the leaflets are sending the wrong message to the North, and will in no way improve inter-Korean relations.
Kim added that the government will continue to persuade the civic groups to discontinue their distribution.
A group of anti-North Korean activists distributed leaflets in balloons across the western border in defiance of the government’s request.
The North has blasted the distribution and reportedly mobilized troops to collect the leaflets.
He said 28 more South Korean workers from the Gaeseong Industrial Complex will return home Wednesday afternoon in accordance with the North's demand that their numbers be reduced.
He said the reduction of staffers employed by South Korean firm Hyundai Asan will be completed at the North's Mount Geumgang resort by Thursday.
The North demanded that the company cut the number of its employees to less than 100 at Geumgang.
