Conservative Groups Continue to Distribute Leaflets

Conservative civic organizations on Wednesday continued to send balloons carrying anti-communist leaflets to North Korea despite multiple requests by the government to stop.

Some 40 members of four conservative groups, including the Korean War Abductees Family Union and Fighters for Free North Korea, released some 100-thousand leaflets from Imjingak pavilion, just south of the border from the North.

The participants said that many organizations support their actions and they will continue to send the leaflets.

Meanwhile, the Korea Alliance of Progressive Movements and the main opposition Democratic Party held a press conference in front of the Central Governmental Complex, claiming that the current administration approves of the distribution of the leaflets.

The Korea Alliance of Progressive Movements had clashed with conservative groups on Tuesday as they tried to stop distribution activities.
