The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates North Korea's rice harvest increased 200-thousand tons this year to one-point-four million tons.

Quoting an FAO report, the Voice of America said North Korea will have two million tons of rice available through next year if an estimated 600-thousand tons of external aid is included.

The UN agency said corn production also likely grew from last year's one-point-three million to one-point-nine million tons this year, but foreign corn aid fell from 700-thousand tons to 200-thousand.
