The government has included the Jarasum International Jazz Festival on its list of the most promising domestic festivals.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the government will provide 70-million won in monetary support for the event and will help to coordinate overseas promotions and consultations.

The ministry gave the jazz festival strong marks in terms of its attractions, audience satisfaction, prospect for growth and effects on the local economy.

Each year since 2004, the festival in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, has drawn over 100-thousand visitors from home and abroad.
