A South Korean civic group recently provided two North Korean regions, Goseong and Gaeseong, with 50-thousand briquettes each.

The head of the organization Won Ki-joon said Tuesday that his group has provided a total of one-point-six million briquettes to the regions over the course of the last year.

Won said that this year’s figure was under the average annual provision of two million briquettes due to strained inter-Korean relations.

He believes his organization’s work has helped enhance cross-border relations.
