Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan says the six-nation talks must swiftly resume to discuss North Korea's nuclear dismantlement and verification process.

Speaking to his ministry on the first workday of the new year, he urged close cooperation with the members of the six-way talks in order to make progress on the nuclear issue amid uncertainties in North Korea's situation.

He said that the country as a whole should continuously strive to move forward in 2009 if any results are to be reaped.
