Voice of America (VOA) reports a sixth shipment of U.S. food aid arrived in North Korea on Thursday.

Citing officials from the U.S. State Department and a nongovernmental organization, the report said the U.S.-flagged vessel Eastern Star arrived at the North Korean port Nampo with a shipment of 21-thousand tons of corn.

The shipment was scheduled to arrive on January third but was delayed due to bad weather.

VOA added that American NGOs will distribute the food aid in 25 cities and counties in North Pyeongan and Jagang Provinces.
