Aid Groups to Enhance Monitoring of Food Distribution in NK

South Korean civic aid groups for North Korea will beef up their monitoring activities to ensure transparency in food distribution.

During a regular plenary session on Tuesday, an association of 56 civic groups decided that they will check whenever necessary to see if food and other supplies are delivered to North Korean people.

The association also decided to establish a general aid plan to avoid overlapping, keep watch for ineffective aid, and share information.

The civic groups also called on the Seoul government to resume food and fertilizer aid for North Korea while urging Pyongyang to stop criticizing the South Korean government.
