A pro-Pyongyang newspaper in Japan says negotiations over ending North Korea's nuclear program are an urgent issue for the new Barack Obama administration.

Reporting on Obama’s inauguration Thursday, the Choson Sinbo said the Obama administration needs to adopt swift and realistic measures on the North Korean nuclear issue in order not to create yet another tough diplomatic task for him.

The paper added that the Obama administration will need to rely on the September 19th, 2005 nuclear dismantlement agreement the U.S. made with North Korea.
