Asian immigrants around the U.S. city of Chicago celebrated the Lunar New Year with a grand festival.

Some one thousand people, including top officials and state politicians, attended the event in the suburb of Rosemont.

Performances, artifacts, and interactive programs highlighting traditional Korean culture were organized and presented by the Korean community.

Eight of the 16 Asian communities in Chicago alternate hosting responsibilities for the New Year celebration each year.
