JCS: No Peculiar Moves Spotted from NK

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) says it has not detected any peculiar movements from North Korea following its declaration to scrap all inter-Korean political and military accords.

A JCS official said Friday that it is closely watching the North Korean military, adding that Pyongyang apparently made the recent declaration as part of efforts to raise tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

JCS placed troops on heightened alert since January 17th when the North’s military threatened to take what it called an "all-out confrontational posture" against Seoul.

The military has been keeping a watchful eye on the western sea border with the North and the military demarcation line.
