South Korea is seeking to host the World Cup again.

The Korea Football Association said Tuesday that it conveyed to FIFA --- the international soccer governing body --- its hope to host the international sporting event either in 2018 or 2022.

South Korea and Egypt submitted their applications on Monday, the last day to register to host the World Cup. A total of 12 countries are bidding to host the event, including Japan, the United States, Spain and Mexico.

FIFA is expected to open an executive committee meeting in December to decide which nations will host the two World Cups.
