Skater Kim Tops Short Event with Record Score

Korea's top figure skater Kim Yu-na has finished atop the standings in the female single short program at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships under way in Vancouver, Canada.

She finished with a short-program score of 72.24, 0.29 points higher than her previous high and her best score to date.

Her perennial rival, Japan's Mao Asada, tallied a 57.86 to come in sixth while Joannie Rochette of Canada ranked second at 66.90.

Korea's Kim Na-young finished in 16th place and Kim Hyeon-jeong in 17th. Both secured berths in the free skating competition which begins Saturday.
