A survey shows that 80 percent of Korean adolescents are using cell phones.

Korean telecom operator KTF and the GSM Association conducted a survey of people ages 12 to 18 living in Korea, Japan, China, India and Mexico.

The GSMA is the world’s largest association of third-generation mobile network operators.

Some 77 percent of adolescents were found to be using cell phones in Japan, 64 percent in Mexico, 48 percent in China and 30 percent in India.

Adolescents from Korea started using cell phones at an earlier average age than those from any of the other countries surveyed.
