The South Korean military is mulling deploying ground-to-air missiles near the Northern Limit Line in preparation for potential airborne provocations from North Korea.

A government source said Monday that the military is considering deploying the guided missile on islands near the western sea border known as the Northern Limit Line.

Dubbed “Cheonma,” the missile produced with domestic technology is capable of intercepting within ten seconds aircraft that fly within ten kilometers at an altitude of five kilometers.
